Is Your Life In Peril?

For many of us, we think that every single second our life is in peril. In some cases that is true but for most it’s not unless it is time for you to go to the great beyond.

While sitting on my back deck this morning and watching birds zip around looking for food this thought came to mind. The bird’s lives are generally in peril all the time. There are times that they can’t find food and knowing if they don’t it’s over.

So as you go through your daily life stop for a second and ponder the idea if your life is in true peril or you just like the adrenaline rush?

Conservative Christian Beliefs and Homosexuality

The moment that many mention the conservative Christian movement and the issue of homosexuality there is the outcry of hating homosexuals. Of course, that is a political talking point and not based on any facts or scripture.

I fail to see the ambiguity in this matter? I have family members who are gay and they are still loved although I personally have troubles with how they live their lives. Even with that, it is not my place to judge them.

So, for those who harass and make these false claims, they would say it would be ok to have sexual relations with my male friends. I guess that would fall under this whole nonsense about free expression. The ironic thing is that those who talk about free expression are the first ones to hammer conservative Christians for their beliefs.

In my decades around the conservative Christian movement, I have never heard anyone condemn homosexuality in a way the secular world claims.

I think it’s high time for conservative Christians to stop all the whining about how people are going about things.

It is important to point out that like with any movement there are extremest on both sides of this issue and they should be condemned for their actions.

Blog Friends, I Do Miss All Of You

For many of us who have wandered around this blog world for decades, we have those times that life’s events take us away from doing what we love. We often try to avoid it happening but it does. The thing is when these things happen there is such a void in our lives.

In many ways, as we age it gets more and more difficult to find the time or the physical ability.

My first blog went by Duke1959 and that later change to 1959 duke and that went for a very long time. Then one day about 6 years ago my world blew up and although I continued to write some I just had to stop it. It just got too emotionally painful to continue.

This one and Duke’s Place are probably my last 2 blogs and in ways that is sad. Then the question comes? What am I going to do with all of these posts?

As I sit here watching my cat looking out the front door as she is basking in the sun. I can’t help but think that we were all like that when we first started blogging. Life seemed so clearly defined.

Now you look back and wonder how all those wonderful people in my blogging world are doing and I hope their blogging advaentiure has been worth the trip?
