There are times in life that a dilemma comes up that rips at your innermost being. I am currently facing one of the most difficult ones in years. It’s not like I haven’t been down this road before but this one is different. It’s different because it has to do with my spiritual home. A place I have known for over 20 years with countless friends and memories. Very often these things happen through no fault of our own. This is certainly the case with this situation. So with no clear answer in sight, I will sit here and listen to the birds maybe they will help me find an answer?
Ladies and gentlemen scripture talks about having a joyful spirit . You could never tell it in most sanctuaries on Sunday mornings! People stare ahead like a deer in headlights! In all fairness people have many stress and strains in their lives. For many it’s the only break they get from a tough week. So if you see someone who looks really tired say ” hi” because that simple word can speak volumes!
When you stop (and get real quiet) as you watch birds go through their activities it’s fascinating. There in one regard, there is a sense of independence. Because it is a true case of not eating will cause death. Yet there is another more fascinating side to them. Regardless of their struggles they still manage to look out for each other Of course it often is a member of the same species but then again it doesn’t always turn out that way. Isn’t it sad that in so many cases many humans can’t have the same understanding? As the saying goes ” The Good Lord made the word “I” the smallest word in the dictionary for a reason”. Birds seem to understand that but for many humans, it’s a foreign concept.
