This Is Your Life

For those of us who are somewhat older, there was a show called ” This is Your Life” that many of us enjoyed immensely. Today and every day you are playing this is your life! There are no do-overs or if I could only go back stuff. At the time you made a decision that became a sentence in your life. Through the years we have all made countless decisions and have regretted many. Here is a short story that will help illustrate.

Many years ago my father died and my older brother and I had not spoken in years ( for who knows what reason?) so I was advised by Pastor if he should show up at the funeral home I should try and make peace with him. Well, he did show up and I approached him. I reached out and shook his hand and ask him if we could just put the past behind us? His response ” It is what it is”. Of course part of the rest of that story is he wanted to talk to me when I was several hundred miles away back home. Of course, that didn’t happen.

So folks after something happens in your life is truly a life story built one sentence at a time.

Her Gentle Sleep

Her chest barely moves as I wonder if she is even still breathing. For that’s the thing about her gentle sleep it’s been like that since childbirth many years ago. But underneath that gentle sleep is a woman who for nearly 5 decades fulfilled her passion in life. When she became an RN on that glorious August Day she had no idea what her passion would lead her. This woman of faith is tired. It’s not like she wants to die but her glorious home awaits her. For that she is confident and that’s all that matters. So will this be the day Our Lord and Saviour call her home? Only he knows that as it should.

Writers Reality

For those who really love to write and share it with others, we face a reality. The reality is that we have no idea if anyone is reading what we write or getting something out of it? Or for that matter are they sharing it with someone else? I might write something today that doesn’t mean anything to someone else for years. So it’s a reality you just have to accept. I think one of the biggest mistakes writers make is that they want to be writing all kinds of different things That’s not me.

I do have some general guidelines for my writing. The first is that women never have to worry about clicking on my site and finding offensive content. The will be no political or social issues written about.

My blog here is just observations I have made through the years.

They will normally be about a 2 to 5-minute read. So enjoy!
