Authors, It’s All About The # 1

Through the years I have noticed that authors make the biggest mistake time and time again. Other types of businesses fall into this same trap.

You can have all the marketing and sales tactics you can ever dream of and that doesn’t work long term.

I know this is not sexy but the fact is it all comes down to the number 1. It’s about making a connection on some kind on a personal level to each person. If you don’t then you will fail. People like D.Wallace Peach and her buddies have figured this out a long time ago.

While I am at it this morning something else has crossed my mind. For those of us who are older, we want to buy things and not be sold things. By the time you reach a certain age, you have heard all the lies and promises.

  1. Thanks so much for the shout out, Mike. And what a wonderful compliment. It took me two years of blogging to learn that social media is supposed to be “social.” Lol. I was such a nitwit. But what keeps me coming back to this again and again is the wonderful relationships in this blogging community. That, above all, is the focus. Have a lovely weekend, my friend.
